I have used Bruce Donahue for all of my construction work over the past 25 years. What seperates Bruce from all other contractors in this area is his unique ability to "visualize" the job. He has the ability to look at plans and make changes that fit the location or blend with existing work. When I renovated my house from a vertical sided casement style window home to clapboards, Bruce changed all the front windows to a different style and size. Tha casements just would not flow right. Bruce took the 10 Anderson casement windows and used them in the back in a 3 season room (lots of glass and air flow). The acrhitect wanted all new sliders at a big expense. Bruce could not "toss" good Anderson windows with 20 years of life left in them. Another item that I think is over looked is their neatness. We did our renovations while living in the house. Bruce recognized that fact and kept it to my wife's standard, which is a tall order. Also, his
design and vision of the smallest detail wows people today. I have also used Bruce for work at my 2 family rental. He took a simple item like backstairs to the 2nd floor apartment and turned a straight staircase into a multi level turn to deck staircase. Visually, it looks so much better. Functionally it's over the top because the tenants now have a deck and I was able to increase the rent a bit. Finally, Bruce just completed a renovation to a ranch that my 88 year old aunt is moving to. Another tall order because we have a fixed limited budget (based on income, etc) As the trustee, I am charged with the project and the cash flow. This project worked well because Bruce was able to prioritize the work needed within the budget from the wish list. I would recommend Bruce and Bayside Builders because he is a person that can be trusted and depended on. If you can find a person with more passion than Bruce for his trade, more knowledge than him and has the presence to be "on the job" personally, then hire him. Because that's what you get with Bruce.

Bruce completed a 1,000 square foot addition to our home in Bristol, RI in May 2005 including an entertainment room above the garage, office space for my husband, and a beautiful laundry room (for me!). Bruce and his crew ensured quality construction as well as continuity between the new and old structures. Bruce finished our garage with walls and ceiling, constructed a beautiful side porch, rebuilt our deck with quality materials including steps and stonework to our backyard, reroofed the entire house.
Bruce is an expert in his business and provides many good ideas and recommendations for improvements. We left our project in his hands and went to work with piece of mind. Bruce was in constant communication with us on next steps and how to plan, which was helpful. Bruce and his crew are honest, trustworthy, conscientous, and hard working. Our home project went very smoothly and we couldn't have been happier. They worked through inclement weather and cleaned up the job site every day. They were courteous and friendly to neighbors and even got a few more jobs in our neighborhood after our project was completed.
Most importantly, we LOVE the addition and improvements to our home that Bruce and Bayside Builders completed. I highly recommend Bayside Builders for your project.
